Almost every one knows that July 4th is Independence Day. However, most people don't know what actually happened on July 4th, 1776. Only 12 of the 13 colonies formally adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4th. New York did not approve the declaration until July 19th (after some minor changes were made). The declaration was not actually signed until August 2nd. You can learn more about the Declaration of Independence here. When you are working on an Identifying Sentence Errors question, read the sentence and focus on anything that stands out and sounds wrong or strange.
